Curated by Francine Farr, the exhibition illuminates her extraordinary life and global legacy as the first tenured black professor at Scripps College, founder of the Museum of African American Art, and her efforts to channel the power of art and art history to build community and address the struggle for equality for Black, Asian, and Indigenous Americans.

Working primarily with simple, everyday materials such as flagging tape and hand-dyed ropes, Geckler creates immersive installations that transform architectural spaces through color, line, and optical rhythm.
- [She Opens the Door: Women Artists and Writers Shape Language and Space](https://clmoa.org/exhibit/sheopensthedoor/): Curated by Poet-in-Residence Chloe Martinez, She Opens the Door is a group exhibition featuring contemporary female artists who explore agency at the intersection of language and art. The show includes artists from Claremont and the broader Southern California region. In addition to selecting artworks, Martinez will contribute her own poetry and writing to complement the exhibition, while also inviting other creative writers to participate. The exhibition is made possible by a generous grant from the Pasadena Art Alliance.
- [Into the Abyss: Marsia Alexander-Clarke, Richard Brown Lethem, & Eileen Senner](https://clmoa.org/exhibit/into-the-abyss-marsia-alexander-clarke-richard-brown-lethem-eileen-senner/): Into the Abyss will consist of three solo exhibitions organized around a common theme. Artists Marsia Alexander-Clarke (video), Richard Brown Lethem (painting), and Eileen Senner (painting) all explore the picture plane as a portal of infinite space that is also a metaphor for the mind. The "abyss" of the picture plane is a space of vast emptiness, yet also one of powerful latent energies.

Alex Heilbron’s work employs patterns to explore how femininity is perceived culturally, psychologically, and politically. Heilbron's paintings present multiple points of tension: the uniformity of pattern versus the subtleties of figuration, the digital versus the handmade. In bright, bold color, Heilbron creates paintings that seem to be constantly shifting within the stability of the picture plane.

Cathy, a mosaic artist, and Frank, a curator and organizer, have developed an art collection over decades that reflects a community-based approach to collecting. Involved in the annual exhibition Return to Aztlan at the dA Center for the Arts for many years, the Garcias, their home and collection are an integral part of the local and regional Chicanx art community.
- [One of Your Girls or Your Homies: Tan Jazz Mont](https://clmoa.org/exhibit/one-of-your-girls-or-your-homies-tan-jazz-mont/): As a companion to Home in Aztlan, an exhibition of recent work by Tan Jazz Mont will present paintings and sculpture at the intersection of autobiography, social commentary, and abstraction. Mont, a queer artist who lives and works in the Inland Empire, harvests the rich imagery of his Hispanic heritage to speak to the irresolvable complexities of identity.

The exhibition will also include Frame’s work on the Academy Award-winning short film The Swan Girl, 2016.
