Baldy Crawlers with Martin Maudal
Baldy Crawlers are the musical arm of Maudal Musical Machines. What started as simple demos for the guitars Martin builds became full composition and production projects, which cross genre lines from New Orleans and Latin funk to modern folk. They will perform work written especially for the instruments to wrap up the Sound Formations exhibition. Learn more.
Meet the musicians:
Elizabeth Hangan of the Citrus Sisters (whose other members are Ellen Harper and Marguerite Millard). She is well known in the Pomona Valley/LA blues world. She sang in the first band Maudal played in at 15.
Brian Hall of Farmer Tan and the Country Squires, and the highly sought after Marc Weller, known for his stellar pedal steel work, will be on various Maudal Musical Machines.
Ross Schodeck on bass, Jose Perez on percussion, and Norrell Thompson as vocals. All have toured with Poncho Sanchez and were nominated for Grammys for their work on his album Tranes Delight. Jose has also toured with snarky puppy, Haley Reinhardt, and Pomplamoose. Norrell has played with Shiela E, Son Mayor, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, and Luis Enrique.
