Bus Trip to Visit Albert Stewart Private Collection in Ventura on October 20
(September 15, 2012) – Nearly 50 years after his death, we have discovered a treasure-trove of sculptures and drawings by renowned Claremont sculptor, Albert Stewart at the home of his daughter in Ventura. Pat Jump has invited us to visit and see her wonderful collection of over 50 artworks by Albert Stewart, paintings by his close friend Millard Sheets and others, and to wander the extensive sculpture garden.
The Claremont Museum of Art has partnered with Scripps College Fine Arts Foundation to host a Bus Trip to Ventura on Saturday, October 20 from 9am to 5pm. Guest will make the 2-hour trip in comfortable mini-buses, docents will give tours of the home and lunch will be served in the lovely garden. Before returning to Claremont, buses will stop at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Ventura to view Stewart’s 14 stations of the Cross.
