Sound Formations LIVE

Saturday, May 3, 4-9 pm

Claremont Lewis Museum of Art, 200 W. First St., Claremont, CA

A free public outdoor concert will be held May 3 from 4-9 pm at the Claremont Lewis Museum of Art in the historic Claremont Depot. This event is an extension of the Sound Formations exhibition, which showcases handcrafted musical instruments. Attendees will have the rare opportunity to experience these works of art performed by local musicians and instrument-makers.

Join us for this family-friendly music event with seating on the Depot lawn. Limited edition concert T-shirts, slices from Pizza and Such, sodas, and beers from Claremont Craft Ales will be available for purchase. A sound stage will feature performances by Amps for Christ, Baldy Crawlers, Jom Trio, Kotz Percussion, Los Savages, Otto D’Ambrosio with Mark Herring and Patrick Langford, and Rufie and Friends. Production of this event is made possible by a collaboration with community members such as Robin Young, Mike Kotsen, Martin Maudal, Ray Woodbury, and the Folk Music Center staff and friends.

The museum is situated in the historic Claremont Depot at 200 W. First Street. For further information, please visit clmoa.org.

The Exhibition

The Museum will open at noon with Sound Formations: Artist, Musician, Instrument Maker on display. The instrument is a bridge between the hand of the maker and the hand of the musician, where the harmony of material, body and acoustics forms stunning visual designs. On view through July 13, Sound Formations is generously sponsored by the Skapik Law Group, with additional support from the Chouinard Foundation and RK Diversified Entertainment.
